Renovation
The temperature is well below 0 tonight (brrrr) and I am staring at bare insulation that are the walls of my living room for the time being. I’m thinking that this might not have been the best time of year to renovate.
Friday to Sunday – Tenorissimo!
I had a great rehearsal this afternoon with the band and my good friends & tenor colleagues Philip Grant and Paul Ouellette. We’re gearing up for a string of shows next weekend in Cobble hill on Friday November 19 and Parksville on Sunday November 21. Nothing like spectacular music and a few laughs to liven up a dreary November evening. Below is the “official” word blub about the concerts – where to go to get tickets etc!
Tenorissimo! Provides an afternoon of Tenor Brilliance
Singing of love, conquest, betrayal and heartache, from a heart melting serenade to a spine tingling ‘high C’ — this is Tenorissimo! St. John the Baptist Anglican church in Cobble Hill and Knox United Church in Parksville are pleased to present these exciting performers on Friday November 19 at 7:30 pm and on Sunday, November 21 at 2:30pm respectively.
Tenorissimo! is Ken Lavigne, Philip Grant and Paul Ouellette - three classically trained young singers charged with vitality and talent and born to entertain on the international stage. Individually they have enjoyed rave reviews performing as soloists across North America and Europe; together they are undeniable, joining in harmonies that swell and subside masterfully, charming you along the way. This is a rare opportunity to hear the three together, with only a few concert dates planned at the present time.
The three real-life friends infuse their performances with their offstage camaraderie, warming the audience with their intimacy and humour. Critics and audience alike have described Tenorissimo! as expressive, accessible, and fun, by re-invigorating opera hits, Italian favorites, popular folksongs and well-loved ballads with their own tailor-made arrangements for the contemporary audience.

Christmas tour concert information
I have been bombarded by emails in the past week with requests for more information regarding the upcoming Christmas tour. Specfically from those of you who are looking forward to the concerts in Victoria on Dec 10 & 11. The feverishness of the emails is really encouraging, what with last years concert at a capacity sell out crowd, it would be nice to see you all again this season (we’ve added another concert in Victoria so those who found themselves scrambling to get tickets at the last minute won’t be left out in the cold). There is some information in the Events section of the website with helpful tidbits like where to buy tickets and contact phone numbers etc. But those of you who are wanting more details I’ve included an un official press release of sorts so you’ll know more of what your in for. So here it is.
Critically acclaimed tenor Ken Lavigne brings his lyric vocal talents to theatres across Vancouver Island and the lower mainland for performances of Christmas classics. These concerts feature a variety of stirring traditional Christmas melodies and seasonal favorites from the repertoire of Bing Crosby to Andrea Bocelli. A born storyteller, Ken weaves stories and anecdotes rich with humor and humanity into each performance. This is sure to be an evenings entertainment that will warm your heart and set your face aglow this holiday season.
Well that sounds fun doesn’t it… also I’ll have my band on stage with me (Piano, Guitar, Bass, Violin, Synth, percussion and Trumpet) making sure the stories don’t go too long.
